Getting free money.

This will be as good as getting free money.

Imagine getting cashback on your purchase. There are many cashback sites that will pay you for making a purchase.

You can get cashback on so many purchases ranging from home insurance to buying a pair of trainers. It is possible to earn hundreds using cashback sites and a great way to treat yourself with the earnings. Cashback sites are free to join however some of the sites have premium features you can access for a small monthly fee.

What is cashback?

When you make a purchase from a specific website you will get back a percentage of the amount you initially paid for the product or service back to you. You will receive money off the things you purchase similar to discounts or bonuses. Normally credit cards give you a small percentage back purchases you make through their service.

They do this to encourage you to use the card more. However in this article we are going to take a look at websites that offer you cashback on your purchases.

Why do they pay cashback?

They pay cashback to you to encourage you to choose and make a purchase with them. The retailer will then reward the cashback site for bringing them the sale through an affiliate link. The affiliate link tracks everything about the purchase such as where it come from and how much did the customer purchase.

Once the customer has completed their purchase the retailer then credits the cashback site with the sale and pays them their commission. Cashback sites just split some of the affiliate money they make from retailers with their users.

Things to remember

You should never just be persuaded by the amount of cashback you can earn. You should always take out the offer based on it being valuable for you, not just because they pay a high amount of cashback.

Firstly the amount of cashback you can get is never a given. Regardless of the site you use, problems can occur. They could not track your sale which means you wouldn’t get paid. It does happen from time to time so it is something to consider.

Secondly some companies pay higher cashback rates but they don’t have the best deal. For example, if you want to take a broadband package out and company A is £29.99 per month but offers £120 cashback. Company B is £18 per month but no cashback which would you take out?

It would be company B as it works out cheaper over the year despite paying no cashback.

Another thing to consider is the free cashback section. Sites like Topcashback and Quidco have their own dedicated pages where they list the best free cashback offers. You do not have to purchase anything to receive this cashback. All you have to do is sign up for offer, do a survey, create an account or any other action it tells you to take.

Conclusion

Cashback sites are great for saving you money. Before making a purchase it is always worth to check the cashback sites to see if you are eligible for any cashback on your purchase.

Also not all offers on cashback sites are created the same. That is why it is always good to shop around. Some cashback sites may give less than others.
