How to Make Money On Fiverr Without Skills

Fiverr is a micro-gig website, which hosts thousands of clients and freelancers to provide them a platform to get hired for a job or to get your job done for $5 only.

A micro-gig is something that is a small task such as recording a 30 second voiceover, testimonial, designing a logo or anything of that nature.

They keep 20% of anything you earn and you get the rest. So Fiverr keeps $1 out of these $5 as commission and the remaining gets paid to the freelancer. What makes the work exciting is that you never stop at a stage; you can work for as many jobs as you want to make money.

Fiverr is one of the best places to make an extra income or even make a full time income. With the correct guidance the sky is the limit to how much you can earn on this micro-gig website. To start off click either ‘Start Selling‘ or ‘Join‘, they both take to you to same place the register form.

Once you have signed up with some minor details you are ready to join Fiverr and its allegiance of freelancers. If you want you can sign up with your Facebook account as well.

Next you will have to go to your email to activate your account. You can do this by logging into the email that you used to register and click on the link you received from Fiverr. Once you have done this you can access all of Fiverr’s features including buying and selling.

The top bar on the Fiverr page enables you to access alot of the features of Fiverr. I’ll skip what the obvious do such as clicking the Fiverr logo or ‘Home. If you were to click on ‘To Do’ it notifies you about any outstanding orders you have or any seller requests. While clicking on the ‘green bubble’ shows you the same thing but it appears in a drop down menu, so its abit of a quick view.

If you click on either ‘Shopping’ it will take you to the page which tells you all about anything you have bought on Fiverr. Likewise clicking on ‘Sales’ will take you straight to the sales page. Next to it, if you have earned it will appear the level you are on. As you can see we are currently on ‘Level 1’.

If you hover over the part in which your Fiverr name is displayed, you will be able to go to your inbox, collections and the settings. Collections are the gigs which you have liked and saved, all these will be displayed in this page. In the settings you will be able to make changes to your profile including uploading a profile picture and writing a bio about yourself or company.

Level Up

Just like a video game, in Fiverr there are also levels. You start off at the bottom and you have to work your way to the top, the top being Top Rate Seller.

Levels are a way of showing recognition and shows how good of a seller you are. The higher level you are the more orders you are likely to receive because people will trust you more.

Once you level up you also get added perks that go along with leveling up. The different perks that you receive are as follows:

Level 1 – This is the beginner level in which you have to be active on the site for 30 days while completing 10 orders with excellent ratings. Once you reach this level you can charge extra for faster delivery and also charge for gig extras upto $20, however you can only charge for 2 gig extras. You can earn up to $80 a gig!

Level 2 – Recognition that you are a serious seller and doing really well. To get to this level you have to have made over 50 orders in the past two months with excellent ratings. You get priority support, utilize upto $40 of gig extras and people can order way more gigs. You can earn up to $160 an order (or gig as Fiverr call it).

Top Rated Seller – The highest level you can get on Fiverr, on this site it feels like a privilege to reach this level. Unlike the other two levels which you get automatic promotion, Fiverr manually choose Top Rated Sellers. You have to give exceptional customer service, amazing ratings and alot of sales. In return you receive VIP support, access to BETA features and community leadership. You can set 4 gig extras of up to $100 value. You can earn up to $500 for each gig, which is totally amazing!

Make an impression with your profile

The most important aspect is to make an interesting, eye-catching and professional profile to attract serious clients towards you. From a client’s aspect, I can surely say that the first thing which gets noticed of the applicant is his profile, and most of the people get rejected from this very point. Make you profile complete by giving enough information and brief introduction of your expertise.

Do not put some casual, party time or sports playing random picture; select and appropriate profile picture which would make you look like a serious professional. The client will love to handover the job to a decent looking person as he does not know the capabilities of any person out there, but the impression of the display picture will urge him to accept the proposal of decent looking person.

If you don’t know what to put into your profile, here’s a few things you can include:

  • Your Name or company name and Who you are
  • Why you started selling on Fiverr
  • What you sell on Fiverr
  • Any of your interests or passions
  • Why they should use your services
  • Anything else that you think your potential buyer should know

First Few Jobs – Patience, Devotion & responsiveness

Despite of making a standing-out profile, it might take some time to get your first job as newcomers are welcomed by very few clients due to lack of experience, but you are supposed to be firm and positive to get a job. It will not take forever and once you get your first job, you just have to do your best to get good feedback.

It really does help adding a video to your gigs. This does bring a lot of authenticity to your gigs because the person ordering your gig will know there is an actual person behind the gig. It is also more personal.

Fiverr allows you to upload a 30 second video for each gig, It is recommended that you include a video for your gig however you don’t have to if you don’t have to. The video has to be your and it should really be an introduction to your gig. It should tell your potential buyers what they are getting for $5, how you are, what extras are available and anything else.

After getting your first job, all you need to do is work hard and come up with something unique and a master piece according to the client’s requirements. Once the client is satisfied, he will not only pay you the reward for the job, but also give you a feedback score and your identity and quality of work would be shown to all of the other community of Fiverr; better score will attract more clients and you career will pick a pace to earn a lot of money.

What Gigs can I sell?

The Fiverr marketplace is full of gigs and you can buy a variety of things from the marketing, article writing to the downright weird and wonderful. Some things you could sell  or offer could be:

  • Design a website banner or Facebook Twitter Cover Page
  • Design a Logo
  • Record a voice over or testimonial
  • Design a Landing page or webpage
  • Give out advice over Skype

What If I have no Skills?

There are many sellers that are selling gigs on Fiverr with no skills and their gigs can be easily emulated with a little bit of work. Some gigs you can do make money on Fiverr without skills include:

  • Removal of Background Images – This involves removing the background of an image to make it transparent. You could do this in Photoshop as there are tutorials on YouTube on how to do it. However if you’re not wanting to do that, go to remove.bg. It’s a website that allows you to remove background images for free with just a couple of clicks. You do have to pay to get higher quality images but the basic plan is free. You can create a gig and start removing background images for other people.
  • Translation or Transcription – Can you translate something from English to Spanish? You can’t? Good thing for Google Translate. You can offer to translate your Fiverr clients content and use Google Translate to do it for them.

With Transcription all you have to do is provide a written copy of audio or video content so you just have to be good at typing.

  • User testing – Test businesses websites or apps to see if their are any problems and provide them with feedback. Businesses are always looking for ways to improve their website or app and give a better user experience. With this gig you don’t really need any skills and if you have an eye on how to improve things you can do this and start making money.
  • Virtual Assistant – This involves basic tasks for businesses such as sending out cold emails, phone calls, data entry and other such tasks. Some people are making as little as $5/hour with little experience or the more experienced sellers are making up to $100/hour.
  • Play Video Games – If you like playing video games like Fortnite or Call of Duty, people want to pay you to coach you on them! You do have to be genuinely good at the games but this is an ideal Fiverr gig for someone who likes playing video games! One seller is making up to $50 for a 3 hour coaching session on Fortnite.

Keep your career in top gear:

The next phase is easier as you are building your profile stats with some good feedback and earning money on a regular basis, but do not take any job easy as it might not affect your feedback score much but your client will be gone forever. Keep meeting all the requirements and deadlines with quality work. Try to achieve the goal of ranking in the top 20% of the freelancers and then the top 10% as these people get the maximum attention of clients who has work in bulk to offer.

The Don’ts:

There are many things which should be avoided to have the perfect career on Fiverr. The first thing is to avoid any false information regarding your capabilities as when the client will get it checked in his job then you would be exposed and would be awarded with a very bad feedback score. Be honest for what capabilities you have. Feedback is a very important thing on Fiverr and the try to keep the 100% rating.

Secondly, never avoid the client in any case and try your best to reply them as soon as possible; even if things are going bad. Your client expects you to be honest with them and it would be a lot better to tell them if you cannot meet the deadline. Remember the client should always come first.

Thirdly, try not to follow all the other freelancers, try to be different and bring something different to grab the client’s attention. Thousands of people have wasted their talent because of following old tactics, which have become cliché now.

Conclusion

Fiverr is an amazing place to make some extra money and if you respond promptly to messages, deliver orders before deadlines and get good customer ratings then the sky is the limit to how much you can earn. There are some people earning five and six figure incomes on Fiverr.

The only thing you have to do is keep consistent and put in the work and you will be making money Fiverr without skills.
